EUDR Compliance Status for Forest Cover Overlap by Proven

Trusted by Tatwin and sustainability-forward importers

  • Easy to use

    Simple drag-and-drop interface.

  • Skip the manual work

    Just upload GeoJSON and done.

  • Reports in 5 minutes

Not 5 days. Not 5 weeks. Minutes.

Your customers demand deforestation-free sourcing. Regulators require proof.

Not all of your suppliers can provide it.

Deforestation-free verification — delivered fast

Manual cross-referencing takes weeks. Calculation errors are inevitable. And without independent verification, you won't discover which plots overlap with protected areas until it's too late.

Here's where Proven™ comes in.

Proven provides independent geospatial analysis that shows — plot by plot, hectare by hectare — exactly what's compliant and what's not.

Global brands, importers and suppliers use Proven™

Fast verification that satisfies customers and regulators.

Meet Article 10 requirements

EUDR Article 10 requires independent risk assessment. Self-reported data doesn't meet the standard.

Third-party verification is how you satisfy regulators — and prove it to customers.

Know exactly where to fix problems

Proven shows you exactly where remediation efforts should focus.

See precise overlap percentages, specific risk levels, and which plots need remediation—before your customers or regulators ask.

Eliminate manual errors

Automatic calculations against Global Forest Watch and protected area datasets.

No spreadsheet mistakes. No data entry errors that risk rejected shipments.

Client Case Study

Why Tatwin uses Proven™

"We needed independent proof that our supplier plots didn't overlap with protected areas."

CHALLENGE

Tatwin needed to verify 300+ rubber plots against EUDR requirements before shipping to EU buyers. Manual cross-referencing against deforestation data would take weeks.

Under EUDR, there's no acceptable overlap threshold — even one non-compliant plot blocks the entire shipment.

What Proven revealed:

Proven analysed 300+ plots across Tatwin's supplier network in Thailand:

  • 303 plots verified compliant and ready for immediate shipment
  • 22 mid-risk plots flagged, requiring boundary clarification
  • 7 high-risk plots identified, with exact overlap percentages, coordinates, and affected suppliers
  • Clear remediation targets — which plots, which protected areas, what needed fixing
  • After supplier remediation: 328 plots verified compliant — supply chain secured

Total time from upload to proof: under 48 hours

"Proven showed us exactly which 7 plots had issues, what the specific overlaps were, and where to focus remediation.
Without Proven, we'd be manually cross-referencing coordinates — never knowing which plots were compliant and which weren't. Or if we had made calculation errors."

FAQ

Do I still need this if I have my own traceability system?

Yes. Having coordinates isn't the same as proving compliance.

EUDR Article 10 requires independent risk assessment against deforestation and protected area data. Even with your own coordinates, you need to verify them—and independent verification carries more weight with customers and regulators.

Can I use your reports for EUDR compliance?

Yes. Our reports provide the geospatial analysis and risk assessment documentation you need to complete your Due Diligence Statement, including:

  • Geolocation verification (plot coordinates)
  • Deforestation risk analysis (overlap with protected areas and forest loss data)
  • Compliance status by plot

Use our reports to justify your risk assessment, respond to auditor requests, and provide proof to buyers — everything you need to back up your DDS submission.

What if my GeoJSON coordinates have errors?

Common issues we see:

Incorrect winding order

Polygons drawn clockwise instead of counter-clockwise. GeoJSON requires the "right-hand rule" (exterior rings counter-clockwise). Ask your supplier to re-export with correct winding order.

Reversed coordinates

Latitude and longitude swapped. GeoJSON requires [longitude, latitude] order, not [lat, lon]. Solution: Swap the coordinate pairs.

Wrong coordinate system

Coordinates in a local projection instead of WGS84. GeoJSON must use WGS84 (EPSG:4326). Ask your supplier to re-export in the correct system.

Self-intersecting polygons

Plot boundaries that cross themselves. Have your supplier redraw the polygon correctly.

Our verification system will flag these errors when you upload. Share any error messages with your supplier so they can provide corrected coordinates.

What if my plots show non-compliance?

Our reports show you exactly where the problems are—specific plots, exact overlap percentages, and which protected areas are affected.

This lets you take targeted remediation action with suppliers before regulatory problems arise.

What data sources do you use?

We analyse against:

  • Global Forest Watch (2020 baseline per EUDR requirements)
  • Official government protected area maps and forest reserve boundaries
  • Thailand (live now), Indonesia and Vietnam (soon)

All sources are regularly updated and EUDR-compliant

How accurate is satellite-based analysis?

We use the Hansen Global Forest Watch dataset — the same 30-metre resolution satellite data that major certification bodies (FSC, RSPO) and regulatory authorities worldwide rely on for forest monitoring. This is the industry standard for EUDR compliance verification.

The EU Commission itself acknowledges that satellite imagery at this resolution is appropriate for due diligence, and doesn't mandate any specific resolution threshold. For most plots, this provides analysis accuracy within a few percentage points.

For technical details on our methodology, read our technical paper.

How is this different from expensive enterprise solutions?

Enterprise platforms (£2,000+/month) offer broader supply chain management features.

We focus on one thing: fast, accurate geospatial analysis you need — without the unnecessary complexity or cost.

How quickly can I get started?

Same day.

Sign up, select your coverage area, and you'll be ready to verify within 24 hours. Upload your GeoJSON file and get your first report in under 5 minutes.
